Chrome extension

Record your browser meetings. No bot joins the call.

The Groundnote extension records a Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom meeting you have open in a Chrome tab, together with your microphone, and sends it to Groundnote. You get the decisions, action items with owners, risks and open questions, with the transcript alongside.

How it works

  1. Add the extension to Chrome from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Open the extension and press Connect. Groundnote opens; confirm, and the extension gets its own sign-in to your account.
  3. Join your meeting in a Chrome tab, open the extension and start recording. Confirm that the people in the meeting know it is being recorded.
  4. When you stop, the recording is sent to Groundnote and the meeting appears in your account once it has been processed.

Why no bot

Many note takers send a bot into the call as an extra participant. The extension records from your own browser instead, so nothing new joins the meeting and nobody has to admit a bot from the waiting room. If you do want a visible bot, Groundnote also supports an optional Recall.ai meeting bot.

What it can access

  • The tab you choose to record, and only while you are recording it.
  • Your microphone, if you allow it.
  • Your Groundnote account at app.groundnote.app, through a sign-in you can end at any time from your Groundnote Profile, under Active sessions.

If sending fails, the recording stays in the extension so you can send it again or download it.

Good to know

  • Works in Chrome on a computer, with meetings opened in the browser (not the Zoom or Teams desktop apps).
  • Works with Groundnote at app.groundnote.app. Recordings count towards your plan like any other meeting.
  • Recording consent is your responsibility: tell people before you record, as the law where you are requires.
  • Prefer not to install anything? You can still record in the browser on Groundnote itself, upload a recording, or paste a transcript.
